Christian Counseling at the Village Counseling Centre
All of the therapists at the Village Counseling Centre are Christ
followers. We are qualified to integrate the Bible, prayer and faith
into our counseling depending on client preference. We not require,
force, or coerce anyone to share these beliefs while receiving professional
services. We approach the therapy process modeling God's love, grace
and healing, helping our clients make the best decisions possible
for themselves.

Hope and Inspiration in I Corinthians 10:13:
"No trial has seized you except what is common to man.
And God is faithful; he will not let you be tried beyond what
you can bear. But when you are tried, He will also provide
a way out so that you can stand up under it."

Direction in John 8:32: "Then you will
know the truth and the truth will set you free."

Guidance in Proverbs 19:20: "Listen to
counsel and accept instructions, and in the end you will be
wise." |
I Corinthians 10:13 is the foundational verse when seeking help
in the counseling process; it tells us; "No trial has seized
you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not
let you be tried beyond what you can bear. But when you are tried,
He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."
God tells us three very important things in I Corinthians 10:13
regarding trials, difficulties, problems and issues we face in life.
| 1. |
When we face a trial in life, we are not the
first person to face that trial - it is "common to man."
Others have faced it and have been successful in navigating
through the trial. The details of one's problem will make
it unique, but the basic core of the issue has been faced
by many others, and God has helped them to succeed in dealing
with it.

| 2. |
God promises to never let us face a problem
that is greater than what we can bear. If there is a God -
And we believe without a doubt that there is one - and if
the scripture is true - And we believe without a doubt that
it is - Then this verse is true. Some of the problems and
issues we face seem too big to handle and greater than what
we can bear, but God put his name on the line to assure us
that it will never happen. When the trial pushes us to the
breaking point, God Himself enters the situation through his
Holy Spirit to help us cope and handle it.
|
| 3. |
Along with every trial there is a solution.
This is another promise that God makes in this verse. A person
does not have to live very long to learn that life has a way
of confronting us with all sorts of trials. God affirms to
us that when we face a trial there is a solution that comes
along with it. Often it is difficult to see the solution because
of the distress that the trial brings with it, but it is there,
and with some help it is usually discovered. |
